Fun with Pseudoscience
Part A
A while ago, I came across a "Creation Science" Web page that had a list of Wonderings About Evolution; a sort of challenge list to those who believe in evolution. I answered the questions and e-mailed my answers to them, but they only made a few superficial changes in response. So I decided to answer them once and for all with my own Web page, Answers About Evolution.
Part B
I have just gotten my hands on the HTML versions of the 10-part "Breakpoint" radio series "Arguing with Evolution", by Chuck Colson. I am working on answering them the same way I answered the above-mentioned page. They will appear on this page as time goes on. For now, here's what I have:
- Russell Rejects Creationism (my response to "Rabbis Reject Evolution").
- Are They Expected to Prove Evolution?(my response to "Do They Prove Evolution?").
- Interpreting the Real Fossil Record (my response to "Interpreting the Fossil Record").
- Clues to the Origins of Life? (my response to "Clues to the Origins of Life?").
- Where Did Life Come From? (my response to "Where Did Life Come From?")
- The Real Age of the Earth (my response to "The Age of the Earth")
- Asking Tough Questions (my response to "The Origins of the Universe")
- Answering Tough Questions (my response to "Is Everything in Flux?")
- Sin, Adaptation and Videotape (my response to "It's not Sin, It's an Adaptation")
Another One Bites The Dust
There is a particular page of questions out there that has been mailed to me more than once. It is called 20 Questions for Evolutionists. It used to be on the home page of the Center for Scientific Creation, but that page now appears to be nothing more than an online book, and I cannot find the location (if any) of the original list of questions. However, I felt compelled to sit down and write a response to this page, so here it is. Enjoy.
The Debate
In April 1998, I had an e-mail exchange with Mark Harpt (maintainer of the World-Wide Christian Web) that turned into a full-blown debate over the validity of atheism. Since it finished, I have formatted the debate into HTML and put it up on my site. You can see it here.Anyone interested in jumping into the verbal slugfest that is Origins debate should check out the newsgroup talk.origins. However, it might be a good idea to look at the group's FAQ Archive first. It contains a wealth of useful information.
